The Black Bamboo Saxaflute leans into the shadows. Made from naturally dark cane, it sometimes shows tiger-like speckles, giving it a slightly wild, distinctive look. It uses an alto saxophone mouthpiece with standard alto reeds, and includes a cap, ligature, and soft cloth bag. Available as a tenor in G major and an alto in A major, it has a raunchier, more rebellious voice. It can growl and flirt with distortion, suiting bluesy phrases and gritty jazz, with more bite than smooth refinement.
