Small and colourful. The C Saxaflute is a little larger than the standard recorder. It has a highly polished appearance and is coloured using the best wood turning stains on the market. Many have a soprano mouthpiece and some have the alto mouthpiece. The soprano mouthpiece versions are a little more difficult to play and suitable for soprano sax players who wish the practise their altissimo range when they are away from their saxophone.
The alto mouthpiece version is a little freer blowing and a little louder. However it is the soprano mouthpiece version that is really quite amazing once you get the hang of it. A tighter embouchure is required on Soprano versions. They are all in the key of C.
